Launch The Mission

Time: 60 minutes

Materials: Lesson 3 video; The Daily Doodle digital notebooks.

Overview: Students launch a mission to help solve the problems in their worlds.

They learn that a mission is an important assignment or job. Launching their missions means moving into action. A series of good actions could make life a lot better for people, plants, animals, atmospheres, the landscape or the whole world.

In The Universe Within, students discover what a mission is and why it’s so important to them and others. They imagine the change will happen because of their missions. They identify who will benefit and how they’ll benefit.

Students investigate why they think their problem is important to them. They create a compelling title for their mission and write a paragraph about their mission using strong words….nouns, verbs and adjectives to communicate its importance.

They’re reminded that when they share their missions with others, they might find someone who cares as much as they do who may help them complete the mission.
