Fun With Divergent Thinking Shapes

Play with shapes on the computer and imagine what the shapes look like from different perspectives and angles. Take out a laptop or tablet. Go to the Divergent Thinking page:

Then advance through each shape below, zooming in and out, and rotating the shapes, writing down as many ideas of what the shapes look like from different angles:

INSTRUCTIONS:

  1. Take your time to explore and experiment using this app. Imagine as many things as possible from the different angles of one moving shape.
  2. Cycle through several shapes and record the most unique objects you see in The Daily Doodle using the Shapes In Time & Space worksheets for all eight shapes. Find at least 3 unique perspectives for at least 3 shapes of your choosing. Or do them all!
  3. Share the most unique objects you saw while spinning the shapes.
  4. Think about how you can connect what you just experimented with in the divergent thinking program to what we discussed in the warm up.
  5. Imagine and draw one object that exists in your world from several different angles or perspectives using An Object From My World worksheet in The Daily Doodle.
  6. If there’s time, create the object in TinkerCAD.
